In 2001, Tamara Pereira saw weavers in her local community who were without markets to sell their goods and did something about it; she founded Oyanca  Artesania to bridge the gap, connecting Nicaraguan artisans with customers in North America and beyond. Not only has she created jobs for women who were previously without work, but she provides access to training to grow their skills and develop strong sustainable businesses.
