Woven from alpaca fiber, this scarf is handcrafted by artisans in village of Katakora, Bolivia. Artisans have joined toger to create Chojna Pampita, an informal association dedicated to earning income through sales of knitted and woven alpaca products. Alpacas are raised in the foothills of Andes, near Lake Titicaca in Peru and Bolivia. Their fleece is processed into finest quality fiber for weaving. Alpaca fiber is warmer and finer than sheep wool, and is hypoallergenic.
