Artisans of the Shilpa workshop, part of the South India Producers Association (SIPA), create this honey pot from local hale wood, a fast-growing soft wood that thrives on the banks of the Cauvery River. The workshop is located in Channa Patna, a town outside of Bangalore in which turned wood products are the primary industry. First the artisans turn the wood to the desired shape. After this they paint the pieces with a variety of bright colors.
