Shesham is a hard, dark wood that grows in the foothills of northern India. Noted for its rich reddish-brown color, this fast-growing tree grows as high as 100 feet and eight feet around. The wood is durable, insect-resistant and easily carved. To maintain shesham’s natural luster, apply lemon oil or furniture polish occasionally. Because of its high oil content, everyday handling will enhance the finish of shesham wood items.
