Add a touch of Indonesia to your home, with handcrafted batik flowers on reed background. Reed wall hanging is made of dark-stained reeds with batiked flower design in red, blue and natural.

Batik painting on reed, like batik on fabric, is a centuries-old dyeing technique. First the artisan hand-traces an original design on the reed. The design is then hand-painted. Next, hot wax is applied where color is not required. The material is then dyed and the wax removed, leaving only the original design. This is repeated as many times as necessary with each color representing a separate dyeing and waxing process.
