Traditional block-print tablecloth showcases layered colors to produce this beautiful design. This tablecloth, and matching napkin #6838990, are made in Jaipur, India, a center for this traditional craft. This particular design involves several different blocks which are printed on top of each other to create the colorful floral pattern.

Block printing is a labor-intensive method of hand-printing fabric. Artisans imprint the cloth with a wooden block featuring a hand-carved design. The printer moves from left to right, dipping the design block into the dye and stamping it onto the cloth. This is repeated to cover the entire cloth with the intended design and colors. These teak blocks come in many different shapes and sizes. Each has a guide or registration point to dovetail both designs and colors.
