  • My all time favorite "Villages" ornament

    I just love this Hoopoe bird. The first year they came out, I bought three of them. I used my favorite as a worship visual for church ("A New Way of Seeing"). The Hoopoe is a "harbinger of friends" (symbolism to the people of Tanzania). I used the word "messenger" with the children in my talk - and related him to John the Baptist (a messenger for Jesus).
    This year, I bought 5 more and will send some off as gifts for next Christmas....and I know I will probably buy more the next year.....I love being able to help the artisans of Tanzania in this small way.
