David Adams in the Cafe

January 24, 2014

6:30--8:30 p.m.

David Adams has been playing vibraphone, marimba, and flute, and singing in trios and quartets since the early 1970s. He’s also performed as a solo act, starting as a street musician on Venice Beach in California.

For nearly 40 years, David has performed in the U.S. and Canada with his best friend Tom Bechtel, a Toronto resident who plays 12-string guitar and sings.

In tonight’s performance, David will play and sing songs both well-known and obscure music ranging from the 1920s through 2010. His combining of voice with marimba and vibraphone is unusual and very pleasing to hear.
