FREE Compassion/Loving Kindness Meditation Series!
In partnership with meditation teacher Gena Bean from Mindful Boston, we will be offering Mindful Meditation events as a service to our community. Meditating on compassion and human connection is one of the traditional ways to build resiliency during times of stress.
As a bonus, all regular priced meditation related items will be discounted 10% on the days the sessions will be held.
(singing bowls, fountains, pillows, wind chimes, hand cymbals, candles, incense, cat eye pillows and yoga CDs)
Fall/Winter series - 1st Friday of each month
September 5, October 3, November 7
6:45pm to 8pm
There will be an informal schedule.
At about 6:45pm we'll set up some seats and have a chat about what meditation is about.
What is planned:
The hour we spend together will include discussion about compassionate healing for ourselves and each other as well as an experience of compassion meditation. The length of the meditation itself will probably be about 15 to 20 minutes long. No previous experience is required; the meditation will be easy for beginners to understand.
Reservations and Seating:
To reserve your space please RSVP through Ten Thousand Villages or Mindful Boston's Facebook Events pages or call the store (617-876-2414). Feel free to leave a message if you're calling outside of regular business hours. There are no "tickets" but a head count is helpful in order to prepare enough space for sitting together.
There are seven chairs, but no zafu style cushions. If you need a chair, make sure to say 'reserve a chair' in your RSVP comments. Low stools and pillows (artisan crafted and available for purchase) will also be on hand to use although quantities will vary based on in-store availability. You may also feel free to sit on the floor and/or bring a pillow with you.
