Pearly Button & Bead Necklace

Artisans harvest the mother of pearl for this fabulous handcrafted necklace from local rivers in West Bengal. They cut, shape and color the beads by hand. This fair trade necklace was made by artisans working with Tara Projects. Most of the artisans making jewelry are women, who benefit from the fact that they can work from home and thus maintain their responsibilities for their children and household.
