Dhaka Handicrafts is a craft producing and exporting organization that has expanded its business throughout the world on the basis of fair trade principles. The organization promotes craft products through enhancing the skills of rural artisans in Bangladesh.

Dhaka Handicrafts exports basketry items made from cane, bamboo, date and palm leaves and hogla fiber, as well as terra cotta items and other decorative products. All products are produced after careful analysis of Western taste and demands in terms of design and materials. The primary goal is to maintain high quality products for which artisans are paid fairly. Dhaka Handicrafts deals with its artisans in a transparent manner, and seeks to improve their social and economic well-being. Self-reliance is encouraged through a savings plan for artisans.

Dhaka Handicrafts started in 1976 as a project of Enfants du Monde, a Swiss nongovernmental international development organization. EDM Handicrafts was renamed Dhaka Handicrafts in 1999, when it became a self-sustaining development project.

Ten Thousand Villages purchases bamboo and kaisa grass baskets and woven items, terra cotta bowls and planters from Dhaka Handicrafts. Ten Thousand Villages has purchased products from Dhaka Handicrafts since 1986.
