All Pure Nature Ventures is a privately held enterprise producing and marketing personal care products made from Shea butter, an indigenous Ghanaian natural resource for body care. Founder Gladys Commey has established a development project in the northern region of Ghana in which a group of women harvest and process the Shea nuts for butter. Commey is in the process of training some of the Shea butter producers to make the soap as well. With a small group of employees, Commey manufactures All Pure Nature’s personal care products in Accra. She works with four groups of artisans in four different villages outside of Accra who make the packaging for her products. Sale of their raw Shea butter provides a valuable source of income for the producers in the north. For the staff in Accra, employment with All Pure Nature also provides health benefits and assistance with their education fees.
Gladys Commey started All Pure Nature as a business venture, to encourage the use of natural products among its customers, to provide continuous income for Shea butter farmers in northern Ghana and to train young people in the production of body care products. All Pure Nature’s line of products are eco-friendly and biodegradable, and include Shea butter creams, handmade soaps, shower gels, natural face masks, bath salts and aromatherapy candles. All products are purely natural, made from 100 percent natural ingredients, natural oils and specialty extracts and essential oils. Many of the products are enhanced with herbs and essential oils.
Ten Thousand Villages purchases Shea butter personal care products from All Pure Nature Ventures. Ten Thousand Villages began purchasing from All Pure Nature in 2008.
