About Us

About Ten Thousand Villages in Cleveland, OH

Ten Thousand Villages in Cleveland, OH, is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 38 countries, we are part of a network of over 390 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products.

As one of the world’s oldest and largest fair trade organizations, Ten Thousand Villages has spent more than 60 years cultivating trading relationships in which artisans receive a fair price for their work and consumers have access to distinctive handcrafted items. We seek to establish long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans are under- or unemployed, and in which they lack other opportunities for income. A founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), Ten Thousand Villages sees fair trade as an alternative approach to conventional international trade.

Did you know that this year Cleveland Heights Ten Thousand Villages won both "Best Place to Buy a Gift" and "Best Cleveland Heights Business" by Future Heights magazine??? Keep that in mind while you're doing your Holiday shopping this year and see what we're all about!!!

Community Shopping Day for Nepal Earthquake Relief - May 29, 2015

10am - 7pm

Join us all day as we raise funds for our artisans living in Nepal and dealing with the aftermath of their recent devastating earthquakes.

From 10am-7pm we will be donating 10% of our sales to the MCC to assist in their efforts of getting much needed supplies to our artisans in Nepal.

MCC's relief projects after the first earthquake:

In partnership with SAHAS (Helping Hands) Nepal MCC has provided three weeks of food assistance, blankets, tarps, flashlights, water treatment supplies, soap and kitchen utensils for 300 households in Okhaldhunga district. In Lalitpur, MCC partner RICOD (Rural Institution for Community Development) provided 250 households with three weeks of food assistance and a distribution of kitchen utensils, blankets, tarps, water treatment supplies and soap. MCC partner Shanti Nepal is responding in Dhading district with food assistance for 1,100 households affected by the earthquake. Pop Up at General Synod with the UCC! - June 26, 2015 - June 30, 2015

8am - 7pm

Every two years, General Synod brings together thousands of faithful members of the United Church of Christ for formal church witness, inspirational worship, and fellowship with friends (new and old).

In June 2015, thousands from across the country (and abroad) will gather for General Synod 30 in Cleveland, Ohio — the birthplace of the United Church of Christ. Together, we will discern resolutions of witness, church structure, and function. We will stand up for issues that demand a faithful witness. And we will join together in worship each day to lift up the Stillspeaking God.

At General Synod 30, we will explore some of the "Unexpected Places" where we hear God’s voice, encounter the Spirit, and find the United Church of Christ lifting up its witness in the world.

Find Ten Thousand Villages at booth 717 in the Marketplace for the entire convention!
