I loved the set that was shipped - the wood was smooth and dark brown. The marbles were perfect. The only issue was that one of the ball indents was not made/pressed and thus the game was unusable. I had to return it to the store for an exchanged. Both sets in store were light wood and one had a crack in it. The marbles also had more natural imperfections. Still overall nice set but there is wide variation in wood and marble natural imperfections.

This was my favorite game as a kid and this set does not disappoint! The pouch for keeping the marbles is especially well-designed, with dividers to store the marbles by color. The mango wood board has a very rustic feel.
