Lighthearted dragonflies soar over the water. Artisans transform a simple river stone into this beautiful one-of-a-kind lacquered paperweight.

Creating this lacquerware stone requires more than one month. Artisans clean river stones, then cover them with cashew and plaster, drying and sanding, four times. The stones are covered with cashew oil, under water, repeated four times. Artisans stencil the design, then apply lacquer and one sheet of silver leaf, rubbing it with a finger. They then use a brush to paint design detail. Finally artisans apply two layers of varnish, sanding the stones under water after the first layer, and polish.
