Print Story Card

The grace and beauty of shore birds, captured in stylized curves that reflect the waves of their ocean environment. In Chulucanas, a small town on the north coast of Peru, local potters have been creating unique clay items for centuries. The inhabitants of the town descend from ancient pre-Columbian people who inhabited this region. They developed “reverse technique” ceramics, displayed today in some museums under the name of Vicus pottery.
