Ten Thousand Villages Harper’s Point opened in October 2014 and is located in The Shop’s at Harper’s Point. Ten Thousand Villages Cincinnati is located about 20 minutes south of Ten Thousand Villages Harper’s Point and currently supports approximately 110 families through the sale of artisan products. By opening a second store in Harper’s Point, the hope is that between the two stores we will be able to support 220 artisan families by the year 2020.
As one of the world’s oldest and largest fair trade organizations, Ten Thousand Villages has spent more than 60 years cultivating trading relationships in which artisans receive a fair price for their work and consumers have access to distinctive handcrafted items. We seek to establish long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans are under or unemployed, and in which they lack other opportunities for income. A founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), Ten Thousand Villages sees fair trade as an alternative approach to conventional trade.
Community Shopping Day at Ten Thousand Villages
Earn dollars for your organization while supporting fair trade!
We invite you to host a Shopping Day at Ten Thousand Villages for your members, donors and volunteers and receive 15% of the sales from customers who tell us they are shopping for your cause.
Hosting a Shopping Day is easy. You select a day that works best for your organization then promote the Shopping Day as your event to your staff, volunteers and board members in your newsletter and meetings. Post it on your website or other community sites. Send emails and reminders and make some phone calls, because the more people who shop, the more money you’ll make. Ten Thousand Villages will publicize your event on our website and on Facebook as well.
We hope you'll consider partnering with us. For more information, contact Executive Director Darlene Rohrer-Meck at (513)802-5721 or Director.Cincinnati@TenThousandVillages.com
