Silver and coral: swinging loops of sterling silver carry tiny “chaquira” beads. An Ecuadoran tradition dating to pre-Hispanic times, chaquira have been used to decorate blouses, ceremonial cloths and jewelry. These tiny beads are made of coralina, a synthetic coral.
