Description

Peruvian artistry from Tika Rumi (“flower stone”) workshop. During the Shining Path reign of violence, a priest named helped highland villagers develop alternative income sources. As the story is told, the priest came to the Paucar family with a semiprecious stone and asked: “What can we get from this stone?” The answer was, “Many flowers for a woman.” In the indigenous Quecha language, “tika rumi”means “flower stone.” And out of this, a jewelry-producing artisan group was born.
