Description

This cylindrical basket is strong enough for storage but handsome enough for decorating. Kaisa is a sturdy wild grass that dries from its natural light green to a very pale, almost tan color. Artisans cut kaisa grass from riverbanks during the monsoon season, leaving the roots for the next year’s crop.

I love the color of the Ugandan baskets but because the rest of my house is jam-packed with color needed some more neutral storage containers. I bought several of the low, open baskets for storage in the kitchen in addition to this one to use as a single-load laundry basket. It nicely compliments the natural wood floor and accents in my room, is super sturdy, and could be used for any number of things should I decide later on I want a larger laundry container (had no idea when purchasing it was intended to be used as a planter?!) I could literally fill my house with these guys. Plus they still have that lovely grassy smell.
