Dried lotus seeds form the beads of this unique necklace handcrafted by Nepali artisans of Sana Hastakala, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Hand-worked, silver-colored metal adds an elegant accent.

Lotus seeds, sometimes called lotus nuts, symbolize self-creation and purity. Lotus seeds are regarded as sacred by many Nepalis, and are said to bring good luck and protection from danger. Lotus sees are also of great importance to East Asian cuisine and are used extensively in traditional Chinese medicine and in Chinese desserts.
