Pink salt occurs naturally in the foothills of the Himalayas. These colorful blocks of salt are sparkly and fun. And there are so many different ways to use them!

Lights!

A candleholder made from salt creates a soothing, warm glow. And if you don’t want to deal with real candles and flame, salt crystal lamps also do the trick of creating a soft ambiance.

Snacks!

Serving sweet or savory snacks on a salt crystal slab is not only a beautiful display, it’s also delicious. Figs, tomatoes, cured meats, fancy cheeses, and even strawberries are all amazing when served on a salt slab.

There’s even a semi-secret culinary technique of “salt-curing,” which entails cutting your desired fruit or veggie into slices, placing them between two salt blocks and letting them warm up in the sun. This process releases all the natural juices of your chosen fruit and adds just a kiss of salt. This curing technique is also great for parties because it’s an unusual process that your guests may not have seen before.

Drinks!

When we think shot glasses made from salt, we immediately think “tequila!” All you’ll need is a wedge of lime to complete the full flavor of sweet agave tequila, sour lime, and salty salt.

Cleanup…

We know, it’s no fun. But it is important to keep your salt items well-maintained. Because these items are carved from real salt, prolonged exposure to liquids could lead to erosion of the salt. So we recommend carefully wiping your salt crystal plates and glasses with a dry cloth after each use, and always be sure to store them in a dry place.

If your salt items eventually begin to lose some of their structure, they can be used as pretty pink table salt. All you have to do is grind it to the desired coarseness, and sprinkle it on your dinner.
