Warm earthy colors of olive, cream and red. In the ancient kalamkari technique, handed down within families, textiles are hand-painted and block printed with vegetable dyes.

This napkin is created by artisans working with Asha Handicrafts Association, based in Mumbai, India. It derives its name from kalam and kari, literally meaning “pen-work.” Kalamkari art has evolved through trial and error over the last 3,000 years. Techniques of craftsmanship in Kalamkari were handed down within families from generation to generation.
