This set of three soaps makes a perfect gift. The individually wrapped squares, packaged in a crimson organza bag, are scented with orange, cloves and honey.

These soaps are made by artisans at Palam Rural Centre, started in 1978 to offer employment opportunities to people of the Harijan (“untouchables”) community. Traditionally leather workers, they found little market for their products. In the Tamil language Palam means “bridge”—Palam Rural Centre seeks to build a “bridge” to the markets of the rest of the world. Due to a downturn in the leather market, Palam Rural Centre has diversified into soap production, creating these attractive gift sets.

All our soaps made in India use palm oil grown on local plantations. This palm oil provides work to local farmers and does not contribute to deforestation.
