This product is clearly amazing. I was so amazed by this type of instrument that I actually started to study about it. Currently am looking everywhere to find out as much as I can about it. I have made several tunes with it and the thumb piano has held up great. Especially considering it is made from all recycled pieces. Overall, I think this is a great instrument for anyone of all ages.

My church supports a Bible translator in Burkina Faso, so for Mission Month, I put up a display of artifacts/craft items from Africa, including many Ten Thousand Villages items from Burkina Faso. I bought a number of things that year - including one of these little thumb pianos (a stocking stuffer for my son - who was 26 at the time. We still do stockings). He loved it -- and so did my husband.... so I got one for my husband for the following Valentine's Day.

It is funny, but the cans have special significance for each of them. My son was in "Noises Off" play in high school - so his is a sardines can with the words sardines clearly visible. My husband teaches high school English - his has "Othelo" on the sides of the can (he teaches Shakespeare, but not "Othello"). Next time you are in one of the stores, pick up one of these and see if it "speaks" to you. Is there someone on your gift list who "needs" one? This is one gift you may want to "hand pick" (pun intended). Each one does make different sounds.
