This jewelry and accessories collection shines where unexpected materials meet and colors combine. Get cozy with coincidence in warm and woolen fabrics and scarves that are slubbed with twists of fate. Follow a road striped and straight, or take a turn on paisley’s swirling fortunes. Wrapped in pattern, wrought by hand, writ with luck, this collection is destined with design.

Ten Thousand Villages helps to preserve crafting traditions passed down through generations, connecting customers with other cultures and their artistic heritage and creating beauty in the world.

Ten Thousand Villages Awarded Ethisphere Award for Seventh Consecutive Year
We are pleased to announce that, for the seventh consecutive year, Ten Thousand Villages has been recognized as one of the world's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. Ethisphere recognizes companies that go beyond making statements about doing business 'ethically' to translate those words into action. The winners of the World's Most Ethical Companies are standouts who demonstrate real and sustained ethical leadership within their industries.

About Us

About Ten Thousand Villages Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA

Ten Thousand Villages Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA, is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 38 countries, we are part of a network of over 390 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products.

As one of the world’s oldest and largest fair trade organizations, Ten Thousand Villages has spent more than 60 years cultivating trading relationships in which artisans receive a fair price for their work and consumers have access to distinctive handcrafted items. We seek to establish long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans are under- or unemployed, and in which they lack other opportunities for income. A founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), Ten Thousand Villages sees fair trade as an alternative approach to conventional international trade.

Ten Thousand Villages Philadelphia opened in July of 2001.

We welcome you to join our village of volunteers! As a nonprofit store, volunteers are crucial to our success, helping us to keep our overhead costs lower, which allows us to purchase more from artisans. Apply now to join our fun-filled volunteer positions - greeting and interacting with customers, unpacking and checking orders, assisting with displays and more. We welcome volunteers any time of the year.

Community Shopping Event for Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger - October 5, 2014

12:00 noon to 5:00 PM

Sunday, October 5, join us as we partner with the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger for a Community Shopping Event. 15% of your purchase on this day will be donated directly to this great organization.

Recognizing a need to form a strong unified front in the fight against food insecurity and hunger, several anti-poverty and anti-hunger groups came together to form the Coalition in 1996. Fighting not only at the local level, but the state and federal level as well, the Coalition works to ensure that no Philadelphian goes hungry, whether it’s by connecting families in need with SNAP (food stamps) or raising money for local food pantries.

Their main work currently concentrates on three top priorities: helping families navigate around obstacles to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; strengthening social safety nets, especially programs like school meals and WIC; and working on the frontline with food pantries and soup kitchens to provide equipment, volunteers and support for their work.
