Give a Living Gift
December 9, 2005

Living gifts speak the language of peace, which comes when everyone's most basic needs are met. From now until December 31 you can honor your loved ones with a different kind of holiday gift, a special "life-giving" gift. Sponsor projects that give scholarships to Sudanese students, provide livestock for farmers in Croatia, support peace initiatives in Rwanda and create soup kitchens in Colombia. Many Ten Thousand Villages stores sell Living Gifts. Find your nearest store for more information.

Or purchase your living gifts online through the Mennonite Central Committee. Choose projects that contribute to emergency relief, community development and peacemaking. You can also designate your gift “where needed most” to allow MCC to meet basic needs, find solutions with others and make peace work in often forgotten places.
