Ten Thousand Villages Buyer Attends
Pisac Festival in Peru

Ten Thousand Villages Buyer, Doug Lapp, recently returned from a trip to visit artisan workshops in Peru. While visiting artisans in Pisac, a town located in the Peruvian Highlands near Cusco, Doug attended a local festival to celebrate "Pisac Day." Watch this video clip to see the traditional dancing performed by local children during the festival.

IFAT Mark's Global Journey Continues in the U.S.

Launched in 2004 at the World Social Forum in Mumbai, India, the FTO Mark of the International Fair Trade Association identifies registered Fair Trade Organizations worldwide.

Right now, the FTO Mark is on a Global Journey promotional tour and the number of registered Fair Trade Organizations is steadily growing. On September 30th the FTO mark arrived in the United States at the Fair Trade Futures Conference in Chicago, Ill. Watch this short video clip to learn more about the Global Journey. Ten Thousand Villages Featured on HGTV

Ten Thousand Villages, Brookline, Mass., was part of an HGTV show, Designer Finals, earlier this year. The show, "Warm and Natural Guest Bedroom," will air during the week of November 21. The show featured two coiled bamboo pots from Mai Handicrafts in Vietnam and included shots inside the Ten Thousand Villages Brookline store. For show times and a summary of the show, visit HGTV.

Fairfield Mennonite Church Celebrates its 45th Annual
International Gift Festival

Fairfield Pa. hosted its 45th annual International Gift Festival November 10-12. The sale was hosted by the Fairfield Mennonite Church and featured fairly traded handicrafts and Oriental rugs from Ten Thousand Villages. Ten Thousand Villages Receives the Co-op America People's Choice Award
November 4, 2005

Ten Thousand Villages was chosen to receive the People's Choice Award for Green Business of the Year by a popular vote of the general public. Thousands of socially conscious consumers cast their vote on the Co-op America website from September 15 through October 21 and at the Washington, D.C., Green Festival in late September. Green businesses operate in ways that solve—rather than cause—environmental and social problems. Ten Thousand Villages Public Relations Specialist, Doug Dirks, attended the San Francisco Green Festival to receive the award—read his acceptance speech to learn more about what makes Ten Thousand Villages a green business.
