Rooster journal features innovative design and bright hand-painting. And it’s eco-friendly, with handmade water hyacinth paper, grass rope and recycled newsprint. Traditional skills and natural materials bring you a unique journal.

Artisans working with the Biborton Handmade Paper Project in Agailjhara, Bangladesh (part of artisan group Prokritee) craft this journal using an eclectic mix of recycled and handmade materials. They source the recycled newspaper and grass rope from Charity Foundation, a job creation program of Mennonite Central Committee. The pages, handmade paper made of water hyacinth, come from sister workshop Biborton Handmade Paper.

Prokritee works with a wide variety of artisans, mostly women, who live both in the capital city, Dhaka, and in rural areas. Using traditional skills and natural materials, they create unique items that are both decorative and functional.
