Violet scented pillar candle is made with leaves and flowers by women working with La Luciérnaga, a candle making group in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The candle is scented, and is made with white flowers set into blue wax. Established in 1999, La Luciérnaga is a project of the nonprofit women’s organization Actions for Popular Development (ADP). The work of ADP includes a shelter for abused women and their children, a home for pregnant women and a micro-lending program. La Luciérnaga’s workshop employs four women, two of whom are former residents of the women’s shelter. This candle’s fragrance is violet. As with all candles, place in a candle holder to ensure surfaces are protected from hot wax.
