Silver Lotus Singing BowlPRINT THIS PAGE

SKU: 5911210

SKU# 5911210

This miniature singing bowl is cast in copper, zinc and tin, which is silver-plated and embossed with a lotus flower. Hand-sewn pillow is covered in a printed fabric matching the accompanying box. The singing bowl comes with a dark-stained wooden stick.

Nepali artisans’ careful selection of raw materials, mastery in molding and artistic finishing makes a perfect singing bowl. From dining to worshiping, various forms of bronze, brass and copper utensils have been used for centuries. Whether a bowl is used to cook rice or vegetables or used as an instrument to produce fine melody, bronze, brass and copper bowls have a significant place in Nepalese society.

To make the bowl sing, first tap it. Firmly hold the smooth part of the stick upright against the bowl and move it slowly around the outside of the bowl in a circular motion keeping firm contact with the bowl’s surface. The bowl will start to resonate.
