Nicaraguan woodworking artisans let the natural beauty of guapinol hardwood shape each of these unique bowls. Each has its own naturally shaped rim. Handcrafted in Nicaragua. Guapinol, sometimes called Brazilian cherry, is a hard, heavy, strong wood. It is used for cabinetry, flooring, construction and shipbuilding. Its resin-like gum, called copal, is used as a folk remedy for a variety of conditions. Guapinol is common to the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
