STORY
Perfect for the environmentally conscious consumer, this hot mat is created using recycled materials by the Women's Multipurpose Cooperative in Baguio City, Philippines. An innovative process turns old newspapers into new products by wrapping the paper into coils and forming them into spiraled square building blocks. These blocks are joined with thread and/or glue and starched. Product has been tested and should stand up to heat and moisture that comes with average use.

DETAILS
  • Recycled newspaper
  • 6 inches square
  • Made in the Philippines

Lasts Forever!

I bought two of these at least 12 years ago. I use one or both almost every night at dinner. They still are in great shape. None of the fasteners have become undone.

Love it!

I was given one of these at least 15 years ago - still looks great. Attractive and interesting enough to leave out on display whether in use or not. Easy hostess gifts to bring when traveling.

Enjoy the use of mine.

Perfect on my night stand. I use it under my water carafe, simple and lovely. Also I've tried making one on my own, it's more difficult than it looks.

Love them

I love these! I bought them for myself and have since bought more as gifts. They're a clever use of materials and conversation piece. they're made of paper so you just can't get them wet...I assume!

Love these!

These look just as good on the table as they do hanging on my wall when I'm not using them!
