Remarkable design and skilled handwork create this striking Peruvian necklace. With variegated green serpentine stone in braided and coiled alpaca silver setting. From the accomplished artisans of Tika Rumi (“flower stone”) workshop.

The name Tika Rumi has a wonderful story behind it. During the Shining Path reign of violence, a priest named Nefteali Licetta helped highland villagers develop alternative income sources. As the story is told, Father Licetta came to the Paucer family with a semiprecious stone and asked: “What can we get from this stone?” The answer was, “Many flowers for a woman.” In the indigenous Quecha language, “tika rumi” means “flower stone.” And out of this, a jewelry-producing artisan group was born.
