Whether at beach house or mountain cabin, on porch or on deck, hang this wind chime and let the gentle jingle recall the breeze and sea. Filipino artisans handcraft this chime from wood and gleaming capiz clam shell disks.

Capiz is the thin, off-white shell of clams. Artisans wash the shells with soap and water. Next they soak the shells in a weak acid solution. After the shells have dried, they may be cut into shapes and edged with brass wire that is soldered together. This shells in this chime were left in their natural form. Before glass windows became available in the Philippines, capiz was used for windows in houses.
