Whimsical silk elephant ornament is adorned with traditional Khmer ikat and handcrafted by an artisan workshop in northwestern Cambodia. Following years of war, Cambodia is reviving traditional arts such as silk production and weaving—almost-lost arts that are now providing valuable income for young Cambodian women. With few opportunities, women in this area often move to larger cities, where they are at risk. This project encourages them to stay in their own community.
