THE MAKERS

With a determined vision for equality, Irani Sen founded Craft Resource Center (CRC) to enable artisans’ dreams to come alive. The social enterprise infuses mentorship, sustainable practices, and innovation in communities rich in art and cultural heritage but who lack access to markets and steady incomes. Craft traditions include handloomed and block printed textiles, embroidery, ceramics, and eco-tanned leather. Impacting the lives of over 5,000 people in 20 communities across India, CRC demonstrates bold compassion for people and the environment. Ten Thousand Villages has partnered with CRC since 1993.
