I was wow-ed when I opened these along with the matching trivet (pictured below along with the coasters). They are so adorable, and you can see the effort and care taken to make these beautiful coasters. They are perfectly flat on the bottom and the outlines on top are perfectly flat as well and match up exactly, so when I put a mug or soda can on top, there is no rattling and it’s 100% stable. Far better than that brand of mass-market silicone coasters that tops the “best of” coaster lists on Wirecutter, etc. I love the burnishing on the outer and inner edges of the coasters. That detail gives this such a beautiful, multidimensional look! A huge benefit of this particular kind of wood is that it is very lightweight, while also being durable. So no scuffs or scratches on my coffee table when moving the coasters around, unlike heavier ceramic or marble coasters. As for size — it is a bit over half of the size of my hand, which is perfect for fitting soda cans with plenty of leftover room, and mugs both large and small.

I got this and the trivet as an alternative to subpar Amazon wood coasters / trivets that are mass-produced but made to look handmade (and always end up having that uncanny artificial look). It is nice to have a genuinely handmade item where the effort and skill of the maker are so clearly reflected in the lovely final product. You can see the work that the maker put into it, and as such, it brings real joy to use it and even just to look at it. I purchased the matching Lotus trivet, and both together are an eye-catching addition to my wooden coffee table. Works as a functional item as well as an artistic centerpiece. I would recommend getting both!
