ABOUT US

Welcome to Ten Thousand Villages in Goshen's historic downtown! Our beautiful, unique crafts show the difference fair trade makes in the lives of artisans around the world. Established in 1977, we are celebrating our 40th anniversary of bringing fair trade to Goshen and surrounding communities. Follow us on Facebook and sign up for our email list to keep updated on special anniversary events through the year and follow our Link.tre for more information on our social media pages and upcoming events.

Ten Thousand Villages in Goshen, IN, is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. We feature products from artisan groups in developing countries throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, and are part of a network of retail outlets in the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages crafts.

As one of the world’s oldest and largest fair trade organizations, Ten Thousand Villages has spent more than 70 years cultivating trading relationships in which makers receive a fair price for their work, and consumers have access to distinctive handcrafted items. We seek to establish long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans are under- or unemployed, and in which they lack other opportunities for income. A founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), Ten Thousand Villages sees fair trade as an alternative approach to conventional international trade.

Ten Thousand Villages has been in Goshen since 1977, one of the earliest established stores in the network. It began as a combined "gift and thrift" shop in the Peddler's Village complex, moved to downtown Main Street for a few years, then relocated to the Depot, just south of the Old Bag Factory, in 1994. In 2008, we returned to Goshen's historic downtown in a beautifully restored storefront. For 40 years we have offered a fair trade marketplace to connect shoppers in Goshen and surrounding communities with skilled and creative artisans around the globe.

We are located at 206 South Main Street, on the east side of the street, a few storefronts south of Washington Street. Come visit us!
