The cheapest wooden Othello boards from Japan were in the $350 range, so when I saw this for $55, I was curious and not having much high expectations. It got delivered today and came with 4 extra coins, only 1 coin had a slight defect I inspected all 68. It doesn't feel as premium as the wooden Japanese Othello boards I've played on, but it's certainly worth it for its price range. It looks absolutely beautiful on my wooden dining table and definitely enticed us in the house to a few games today. I am another happy customer.

Reversi/Othello is one of my favorite games, and now instead of playing on my old 80s plastic board, I can enjoy this wooden work of art! It’s made of beautiful, smooth wooden pieces joined together, and has four soft pads on the bottom. The insides of some squares retain a roughish texture, but are still finished. There is also a gap along the seam in the middle of the board that is very thin but spans the full depth- you can see this also in the listing photos so it’s just how the board comes together. This should be solely cosmetic as the board itself feels strong and very sturdy- I except it to last a long time. The pieces are very lightweight and come in an awesome drawstring bag, which I love, and are unfinished, but sanded smooth. A minor issue is that some of them do not have very much contrast between the sides (the one sitting on the bag in my photo is an example). This can create some difficulty in gameplay, but it’s easy enough to swap those out for better contrasting prices, especially as my set includes several extras (thanks!) Instructions are included if you’re not familiar. All in all, it feels wonderful to play and makes me so happy!
