Mai Handicrafts runs several craft production projects and markets the work of numerous other craft producers. During recent years, Mai Handicrafts has established itself as the primary marketing agent for artisans from neglected families and women. Mai Handicrafts sales fund various community development activities, including clean water projects, vocational training equipment purchase and teacher wage subsidies. Mai Handicrafts artisans receive social and health insurance, and can apply for scholarship funds.

Prokritee is a women-led enterprise dedicated to creating safe, sustainable jobs for women in Bangladesh who have traditionally been excluded, especially widows, heads of households, the landless, or those lacking income. Prokritee, meaning “nature” in Bengali, keeps tons of waste out of landfills and waterways each year by repurposing sari fabric, harvesting invasive water hyacinth for handmade paper, and using eco-friendly dyes. Prokritee provides artisans with healthcare support, child education assistance, and ongoing skill development programs.
