While home to spectacular scenery and rich in natural, agricultural and human resources, Zimbabwe is now a country of much suffering and unrest. A post-election 2008 power-sharing agreement has yet to prove that Mr Mugabe will relinquish some of his powers. Prime Minister Designate Morgan Tsvangirai is due to become prime minister under the terms of the agreement.
