Fair Isle Child Winter Hat - Assorted Colors - Default Title (5918500)

Could anything be cuter than a kiddo in the Fair Isle Child Winter Hat. Handknit in 100% remnant wool with a cozy fleece lining for comfort and to keep heads and ears toasty warm in cold weather. Classic pompom with earflap design in assorted colors. This is a winter hat so adorable they'll be extra careful not to lose it to the Lost & Found bin! Let the braided fringed ties hang loose or securely tie on so it's a little harder for littles to tug off.

  • Materials: 100% wool, 100% polyester fleece lining
  • Measures: 9.5”W x 6”H +8”L braided ties
  • Colors: Due to the resourceful reuse of remnant wool, colors vary, making each one a beautiful and unique handcrafted piece different from the one pictured here. This sustainable practice means less fabric is sent to the landfill.
  • Care: Handwash cold. Reshape while damp. Dry flat.
  • Notes: Fully lined in cozy fleece.

Kumbeshwar Technical School was established to assist socially and economically disadvantaged children in the Kathmandu Valley. KTS seeks to provide trainees with marketable skills that can ultimately lead to successful self-employment. Graduates of the training program have the opportunity to move into employment at KTS, or to establish their own workshop. Besides the technical school, KTS operates an orphanage, a nursery, a primary school and a workplace day-care. Other benefits include literacy classes, women’s health education, health and accident insurance, and access to loans. KTS was established in 1983, providing an alternative vision to poverty and caste discrimination. Initially the institution focused on the "pode" or street sweeper and rickshaw driver community, in which children lacked access to education.
