Kantha Silk Scarf

Wrap yourself in luxury and this work of art—handstitched in layers of 100% silk. The artistry and time it takes to craft each of these one-of-a-kind scarves contributes to its unique beauty. Handmade by artisans working with our fair trade partner, Craft Resource Center, helping informally organized artisan groups develop self-sustaining businesses.

HANDCRAFTED IN INDIA

  • Materials: 100% silk
  • Care: Handwash cold. Line dry.
  • Notes: The artisans use upcycled sari silk, diverting beautiful textiles from becoming landfill, a resourceful and eco-friendly tradition.
  • Measures: 80"L x 20"W
  • Colors: Vary widely due to the eco‒friendly use of repurposed silk. No two scarves are the same. The back is a solid, non-stitched silk.
  • Handcrafted in India

THE MAKERS

With a determined vision for equality, Irani Sen founded Craft Resource Center (CRC) to enable artisans’ dreams to come alive. The social enterprise infuses mentorship, sustainable practices, and innovation in communities rich in art and cultural heritage but who lack access to markets and steady incomes. Craft traditions include handloomed and block printed textiles, embroidery, ceramics, and eco-tanned leather. Impacting the lives of over 5,000 people in 20 communities across India, CRC demonstrates bold compassion for people and the environment. Ten Thousand Villages has partnered with CRC since 1993.
