Welcome to our global maker-to-market movement where, together with 20,000 artisans, we ignite social change. We create opportunities for individuals, families, and communities in developing countries to thrive through strong relationships, fair wages, safe working conditions, and sustainable practices.
Warm up on a rainy day with a warm cup of tea. This mug is created and hand-painted in the village of Bat Trang, Vietnam, long-renowned for its pottery traditions. Here fair trade partnerships ensure that women artisans earn sustainable incomes by practicing the art of their ancestors.
Pair this mug with a gift that provides safe, clean water through MCC's work around the world.

THE MAKERS
Craft Link, a nonprofit that Ten Thousand Villages has partnered with since 2000, works with Vietnamese artisans to generate income, with a focus on ethnic minorities and people with disabilities. Craft Link helps artisan groups design new products, develop marketing opportunities, sell their handicrafts locally, and export their goods to fair trade organizations and commercial companies around the world. The organization's goals include cultural preservation, public education on traditional handicraft, income generation for small-scale Vietnamese artisans, and acquiring new markets. Artisans working with Craft Link receive tools, interest-free loans, education, training and literacy classes.
