Jute grows in abundance in Bangladesh where the Tree in Tree Garland is made. The innovative makers there create jute paper which is screen printed with a beautiful gold metallic Christmas tree design on both sides of each of the 9 trees on the garland. The tree shapes are then filled with stuffing to create unique 3-dimensional trees in shades of blue, gray and light blue, with dark gray paper trunks. This garland pairs with the Tree in Tree Ornament (sold separately).

THE MAKERS

This women-led enterprise is dedicated to creating safe, sustainable jobs for women in rural Bangladesh who seek to improve their livelihood. With the goal of self-reliance, Prokritee uses handcraft skills to transform low-income communities into ones that grow generational prosperity. Prokritee means “nature” in Bengali. They are expert environmentalists, keeping waste out of landfills and waterways by using renewable materials and methods including recycled sari fabric, eco-friendly dyes, and their award-winning tree-free water hyacinth paper.
